Barrelman is a long-course triathlon staged across the Niagara peninsula, best known for its dramatic point-to-point format. Athletes begin with a swim at the Welland International Flatwater Centre, cycle north through the region's rural back roads and vineyards, and run the closing kilometres toward the falls, finishing in Niagara Falls. Two options are offered each September: a half distance (2 km swim, 90 km bike, 21.1 km run) and a shorter Olympic-style race (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run), drawing a mix of first-timers and seasoned competitors.
