Parking on the Canadian Side of Niagara Falls
On the Ontario side, the parking closest to the Horseshoe Falls is run by Niagara Parks, the agency that manages the parkway and the falls-front attractions. Beyond that, Fallsview and Clifton Hill have private and commercial parking, while the City also operates municipal lots. Check the walking route from your chosen lot to the attraction. Almost all parking near the falls is paid, and demand peaks sharply in summer and on holiday weekends, so a little planning goes a long way. Rates are set by each operator and change with the season, so always confirm current pricing on the official source before you go rather than relying on posted figures that may be out of date.
Niagara Parks Lots
Niagara Parks operates a chain of lots strung along the Niagara Parkway, from the falls themselves north toward Niagara-on-the-Lake. The two most useful for a falls visit are Falls Parking (Lot A) and the Rapidsview park-and-ride (Lot C). Lot A, at 6635 Niagara Parkway, is a gated lot beside Niagara Parks Power Station with easy access to Table Rock Centre and the Horseshoe Falls. Table Rock is the main WEGO transfer hub. A short distance south along the parkway, the Floral Showhouse lot (Lot B, 7145 Niagara Parkway) is a pay-and-display option open year-round. Queen Victoria Place, at 6349 Niagara Parkway, is another year-round option. These three lots have variable rates; check the operator’s parking chart and entrance signs.
Rapidsview Park-and-Ride with WEGO
If your goal is to skip the congestion right at the falls, the Rapidsview lot (Lot C, 4555 Upper Rapids Road) at the south end of the parkway is designed as a park-and-ride. You leave your car for the day and hop the WEGO Green Line, which reaches Table Rock at the Horseshoe Falls in roughly seven to eight minutes. Rapidsview is seasonal and closes for winter; confirm its current opening and shuttle schedule before relying on it. Overnight parking is not permitted. Compare the cost of parking and any transport you need with the lots nearer your first stop. Eligible online Niagara Falls passes include Rapidsview parking; check your specific booking rather than assuming every attraction ticket includes it.
WEGO Transit
WEGO connects Canadian visitor areas, with the Green and Blue lines meeting at Table Rock. Check the official route map, current schedule and fares for your hotel, attraction or GO/VIA station connection. The Niagara-on-the-Lake Orange Line is included in a standard 24- or 48-hour pass when the seasonal service operates. Passes are available online and from participating retailers. Buses have ramps, kneeling capability and mobility-device securement; confirm any specific access requirements. Before leaving the car, check which journeys your ticket covers and the last suitable return service.
Municipal and Private Lots in Fallsview and Clifton Hill
Away from the Niagara Parks lots, the City of Niagara Falls operates municipal lots (concentrated more in the downtown and Main-and-Ferry area than at the falls themselves) where you can pay by machine or through the HONK and PayByPhone mobile apps. In the heart of the tourist zone, the Fallsview and Clifton Hill districts are served mainly by large private and commercial lots, including Clifton Hill’s lot beside the SkyWheel and parking near Fallsview attractions. Walking routes can involve hills; check your route instead of judging only by distance. Prices among private operators vary widely by lot, day and season, so compare options and check the posted or online rate before you pull in.
Accessibility Parking
Accessible parking rules on the Ontario side differ by operator. In Niagara Parks lots, a vehicle displaying an accessible sticker, placard or plate still pays when it first parks, but it may re-park for free the same day at any other Niagara Parks paid lot by showing the original receipt. In City of Niagara Falls municipal lots, valid accessible-permit holders can park at no charge up to the maximum posted time, provided the permit is clearly displayed. At City parking meters, the free allowance is up to two hours or the posted maximum, whichever is shorter. These City rules do not automatically apply to private lots. Confirm designated spaces, gradients and step-free routes with the operator before your visit.
Where to Park
- Falls Parking, Lot A (6635 Niagara Parkway) — Niagara Parks' gated lot beside the Power Station, with easy access to Table Rock and the Horseshoe Falls.
- Floral Showhouse, Lot B (7145 Niagara Parkway) — Niagara Parks pay-and-display lot on the parkway just south of Table Rock, open year-round.
- Rapidsview, Lot C (4555 Upper Rapids Road) — Niagara Parks seasonal park-and-ride at the south end of the park; ride the WEGO Green Line about 7–8 minutes to Table Rock. No overnight parking.
- Fallsview district — large private/commercial lots near the Skylon Tower and Fallsview Casino, check the walking route and any hills between the lot and your attraction.
- Clifton Hill district — parking beside the SkyWheel plus other commercial lots; use the operator’s entrance directions.
- City of Niagara Falls municipal lots — mostly in the downtown/Main-and-Ferry area; pay by machine or the HONK or PayByPhone apps.
- Niagara Falls GO/VIA station — arrive by train and connect to the WEGO Green Line to skip driving and parking altogether.
Parking Tips
- Arrive early. Busy weekends and holidays can bring queues and full lots. Allow extra time and choose a backup; no single arrival time guarantees a space.
- Consider park-and-ride. Leaving the car at Rapidsview and taking WEGO can save money and spares you the crawl through falls-district traffic.
- Buy one WEGO pass and ride all day. Parking once and busing between the falls, Clifton Hill and Fallsview is usually easier than moving your car and paying at each stop.
- Check current rates on the official source. Niagara Parks, city and private rates vary by season and are subject to change — costs apply, so confirm on the official source before you go rather than trusting a number you saw elsewhere.
- Compare private lots. In Fallsview and Clifton Hill, prices differ from lot to lot; include taxes, re-entry and the walking route in the comparison.
- Note the seasonal and overnight rules. Rapidsview and some city lots close in winter. Niagara Parks prohibits overnight parking; confirm hotel or private-lot permission separately.
- Consider arriving by train. The Niagara Falls GO/VIA station connects directly to WEGO, avoiding parking entirely if you are coming from the Toronto corridor.
- Have the payment apps ready. City municipal lots accept HONK and PayByPhone, so set up an account before you arrive.
