Virgil Stampede

The Virgil Stampede is Niagara-on-the-Lake's homegrown May long-weekend tradition, staged for more than half a century at Virgil Sports Park in the community of Virgil. What began as a neighbourhood fireworks gathering has grown into a three-day family celebration featuring carnival rides and midway games, live music and entertainment, children's activities and a wide spread of food vendors. Run by the Virgil Business Association, the fair caps off on Victoria Day Monday with its signature fireworks show. It remains one of the town's most beloved community events and a rite of spring for local families and visitors alike.
