Brock’s Monument / Queenston Heights National Historic Site

Rising above the Niagara escarpment, this soaring monument commemorates Sir Isaac Brock, the British commander killed leading the defence of Upper Canada during the Battle of Queenston Heights in October 1812; he and his aide-de-camp are entombed at its base. In season, visitors can climb the internal spiral staircase to a viewing gallery for sweeping vistas over the Niagara River, surrounding vineyards, and Lake Ontario. The encircling Queenston Heights parkland adds battlefield walking paths, commemorative markers, and shaded picnic areas, making the site both a place of remembrance and a scenic outdoor destination.
