Queenston is a small riverside village at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment, founded in the late 1780s at the northern end of the Niagara Portage. It was the site of the Battle of Queenston Heights in October 1812, where General Sir Isaac Brock was killed; the towering Brock's Monument still overlooks the village. Once home to Laura Secord and printer William Lyon Mackenzie, Queenston today is a quiet heritage community with attractions including the Laura Secord Homestead, the Mackenzie Printery and the RiverBrink Art Museum.
