Crystal Beach is a lakefront resort community on the northeast shore of Lake Erie, directly across the water from Buffalo, and took its name from the clear waters that first drew visitors. For a century it was defined by the Crystal Beach amusement park (1888-1989), and it remains a popular summer destination anchored by its white-sand public beach. Once an independent incorporated village, it was absorbed into Fort Erie in 1970 and today blends cottages, waterfront redevelopment, and a walkable beach-village core.
