Wellandport is a riverside village on the Welland (Chippawa) River in the southwest corner of West Lincoln, with a portion extending across the municipal boundary into Wainfleet. Settled in the 1790s at a narrows in the river, it grew on timber rafting, sawmills, grist mills and river shipping before surrounding farmland came to define its character. Today it is a quiet rural community popular for waterfront and country properties. Paddlers, anglers and campers know it for the adjacent Chippawa Creek Conservation Area and its access to the Welland River.
