The Shaw Festival is a cornerstone of Niagara's cultural calendar, drawing audiences from across Canada and the U.S. to Niagara-on-the-Lake for a months-long repertory season of drama, comedy, musicals and family shows. The 2026 season is currently in full swing, with productions such as Funny Girl, Amadeus, Sleuth, Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense, Heartbreak House and The Wind in the Willows running in rotation through the summer and fall.
Performances take place at three venues in the heart of Old Town: the flagship Festival Theatre and Jackie Maxwell Studio Theatre on Queen's Parade, and the intimate Court House Theatre on Queen Street. After the main season wraps in October, a holiday run continues into late December with titles including Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella.
