Morgan's Point is a historic lakeshore hamlet on Lake Erie, first settled by United Empire Loyalist families and named for early pioneer David Morgan, who reached the area around 1790. Governor Simcoe, impressed by the settlers' industry, first called the spot Point Industry, a name it carried until 1840. Today it is best known for the Morgan's Point Conservation Area, whose old-growth forest, oak-savannah prairie, sand dunes and rocky shoals draw birdwatchers and hikers, and where David Morgan's original log cabin survives as part of the local heritage collection.
