#1 The Horseshoe Falls
Stand at Table Rock on the crest of the Horseshoe Falls, where in peak season up to 2,800 cubic metres of water pour over the edge every second. In winter, rising mist freezes onto the railings and nearby trees, framing the panorama in ice. Several lookout points along the ledge bring you close to the roaring water for wide, dramatic shots.
#2 Niagara Falls Illumination
Each evening after sunset, the Falls glow under shifting colours. Niagara Falls has been lit since the Illumination Board formed in 1925; today a bank of LED lights, upgraded in 2016, washes the Horseshoe and American Falls across a broad spectrum of colour. Against a dark winter sky, the lit water and ice make for striking long-exposure photos.
#3 Dufferin Islands
Just south of the Falls, Dufferin Islands is a quiet 10-acre park of small islands linked by footbridges and winding paths — an easy, romantic winter walk. From November through January it glows with nature-themed displays as part of the Winter Festival of Lights, so it is worth a visit after dark too.

#6 Queenston Park
Brock’s Monument rises 56 metres (185 feet) above Queenston Heights, honouring Major-General Sir Isaac Brock of the War of 1812. The heights look out over the Niagara River and the valley below, a view that turns especially photogenic under fresh snow.
#7 Table Rock
The Table Rock Centre sits right at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, with lookout points that put you face to face with the water. It is a reliable winter photo stop, and stepping indoors here is a welcome way to warm up between shots.
