Each August, hundreds of costumed re-enactors from both sides of the border converge on Old Fort Erie to recreate the 1814 siege that earned the site its reputation as Canada's bloodiest battlefield. The weekend features musket and artillery demonstrations, military drills, period surgical displays, living-history encampments and the dramatic Saturday-evening 'Drummond's Night Assault.'

Staged by Niagara Parks at 350 Lakeshore Road in Fort Erie, activities begin at 10 a.m. both days for the 2026 edition on August 8 and 9. The outdoor camp and battle re-enactments are free to watch, though admission to the restored fort interior and the separate evening lantern tour are ticketed.
