Beamer Memorial Conservation Area

Perched on the brow of the Niagara Escarpment above the town, Beamer Memorial Conservation Area links the Bruce Trail with shorter loop paths that lead to a series of lookouts framing sweeping views of Lake Ontario and the wooded gorge of Forty Mile Creek. Each spring the site draws birders from across the continent for the long-running Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch, a daily count of migrating hawks, eagles, vultures, and falcons that funnel along the escarpment between late February and mid-May. Outside the migration season it offers seasonal waterfalls, picnicking, and quiet woodland walking, though visitors should check ahead, as some stairs and the central viewing platform can be closed at certain times.
