St. Catharines Farmers Market

Held at Market Square in the heart of downtown St. Catharines, this weekly gathering has been a fixture of Niagara life for well over a century and a half, giving local growers and makers a place to sell directly to the community. On market days the covered plaza and surrounding stalls brim with seasonal fruit and vegetables from the surrounding farmland, alongside eggs, honey, cut flowers, prepared foods and artisan goods.

Its downtown location makes it easy to fold into a wider visit, with cafes, shops and parking close at hand, and the city regularly layers on live music and community programming through the warmer months. Saturday is the main market day year-round, with a smaller mid-week market running for much of the year.
