Montebello Park

Montebello Park is the green heart of downtown St. Catharines, first established in the 1880s to a design attributed to Frederick Law Olmsted, the landscape architect behind New York's Central Park. Its centrepiece is an expansive commemorative rose garden planted with well over a thousand bushes across many varieties, framed by mature trees, a pavilion and a playground. Free to enter, the park hosts a lively program of concerts and festivals through the year and makes an easy, pretty stop for anyone exploring the city's walkable core.
