Tawse is one of Niagara's most decorated producers, a benchland estate that has collected the Canadian Winery of the Year title multiple times. Its multi-level, gravity-flow cellar is built into the escarpment slope so grapes move gently through the winemaking process, and the surrounding vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, an approach the estate has championed for years.
Visitors come for tastings that showcase precise, terroir-driven wines, from earthy Pinot Noir and layered Chardonnay to mineral Riesling and dessert-style Icewine. Wrapped in vines against the wooded ridge of the Twenty Mile Bench, it is a standout stop on any Twenty Valley wine route.
