Pet-Friendly Hotels in Niagara Falls: The Verified 2026 Guide (Canada & USA)

Dufferin Islands

Pet-friendly hotels in Niagara Falls are available on both sides of the border. On the Canadian side, start with Old Stone Inn or Comfort Hotel for dogs, or Hilton Garden Inn Niagara-on-the-Lake for dogs and cats. In New York, compare Hyatt Place, Hampton Inn Niagara Falls and The Giacomo, plus the Niagara Falls Boulevard options below. The right choice depends on your pet’s size, your stay length and whether someone can stay with your pet while you visit attractions.

Hotel policies checked October 3, 2026. The comparisons use official hotel and brand pages. Canadian fees are in CAD; U.S. fees are in USD. Pet charges are additional to the room price. Confirm the total, taxes and a pet-approved room for your exact dates before paying.

  • Bringing a cat? Hilton Garden Inn Niagara-on-the-Lake and Hampton Inn Niagara Falls, NY explicitly list dogs and cats. Comfort Hotel Ontario and Old Stone Inn are dogs-only.
  • Bringing a larger dog? SureStay Plus Niagara Falls East publishes an 80 lb dog limit. Staybridge Suites Niagara-on-the-Lake publishes 75 lb per pet. Check the room allocation and your pet’s eligibility before booking.
  • Planning boat tours or indoor attractions? Arrange pet care first. A pet-friendly room does not automatically allow you to leave an animal unattended.

Dufferin Islands
Dufferin Islands on the Canadian side offers outdoor space for a leashed walk. Follow Niagara Parks rules and posted signs.

How pet policies work here

Compare the whole-stay pet charge, not just the headline fee. A nightly, per-dog fee can cost more than a flat stay fee, especially with two dogs. “Pet-friendly” may also mean dogs only, selected rooms, a weight limit, or advance approval. Do not assume another hotel in the same chain has identical rules.

The tables show the fee basis exactly where the operator publishes it. Where the hotel has not clearly stated a fee, species rule or weight limit, ask directly; a missing figure does not mean the stay is free or unrestricted. On a phone, scroll each comparison sideways to see all columns.

Comfort Hotel is not Comfort Inn The Pointe

Comfort Hotel is at 5700 Stanley Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario. This is the property formerly listed as Motel 6 Niagara Falls–Stanley Avenue. Treat those names as one hotel, and use the current Comfort policy rather than an old Motel 6 fee. Comfort Inn The Pointe is a different property in Niagara Falls, New York, and its official amenities page says it does not allow pets.

Choosing between the Ontario options

Old Stone Inn suits a shortlist for smaller dogs; its published limit is lower than Comfort Hotel’s. For example, two eligible dogs staying two nights at Old Stone Inn incur CAD $199.96 in pet fees before tax ($49.99 × 2 dogs × 2 nights). Add the room rate and any other hotel charges when comparing your total.

Ramada’s official page establishes that it welcomes pets, but the current fee and detailed limits were not clear in the policy information reviewed. Get those terms before choosing a non-refundable reservation. None of these listings guarantees a particular room or a falls view.

Pet-friendly hotels in Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a separate base from Niagara Falls. Check the hotel’s map against the walks, wineries and attractions you plan to visit; a Niagara-on-the-Lake address does not necessarily mean an Old Town location.

Niagara-on-the-Lake — fees in CAD
Hotel and official policyPets and limitsPublished pet fee
Holiday Inn Express Niagara-on-the-LakeDogs and cats; up to 2. Confirm weight eligibility: the official page gives conflicting limits.$35 per stay, plus HST.
Staybridge Suites Niagara-on-the-LakeDomestic pets; up to 2, maximum 75 lb each. Confirm your animal’s type.$35 per stay, plus HST.
Hilton Garden Inn Niagara-on-the-LakeDogs and cats; up to 2; published maximum weight 75 lb.$70 for 1–4 nights; $100 for 5 or more nights. Non-refundable.

Two details to confirm: Holiday Inn Express’s page contains inconsistent weight information, so this guide does not choose one limit. Both that property and Staybridge Suites say pets must remain in their owners’ company. Do not assume a crate makes unattended stays acceptable.

For wine-country plans, use our Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries guide to choose stops, then ask each winery about pet access to its specific patio, grounds or tasting experience. A pet-friendly hotel does not establish a winery’s rules.

Pet-friendly hotels in Niagara Falls, New York

SureStay Plus by Best Western Niagara Falls EastUp to 2 dogs, maximum 80 lb each; other pets, including cats, need prior approval. Limited pet-friendly rooms.$20 per day. Confirm the total for the number of pets you are bringing.

Check the full hotel name and address. Hampton Inn Niagara Falls in this table is the property at 501 Rainbow Boulevard. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Niagara Falls is at 10111 Niagara Falls Boulevard, and SureStay Plus Niagara Falls East is at 9100 Niagara Falls Boulevard. Compare those locations with your planned park entrance before choosing a room.

Hyatt Place’s longer-stay cleaning charge makes the published pet total USD $200 for a 7–30-night stay. The Giacomo’s official pages differ in how they express the weight cutoff; obtain confirmation for your pet instead of relying on an assumed exception. For each hotel, ask separately about leaving your animal in the room.

Hotels that do not take pets — check before booking

The following exact properties publish a no-pets policy. This does not describe every hotel under their brands, and service-animal access is a separate matter.

Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls
Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls is a pet-free resort. Service-animal access is separate from its pet policy.

Other names that need a direct check: Red Coach Inn’s reservation policy directs guests travelling with pets to kennels; do not assume it offers a pet-friendly guest room. We could not establish a current published pet fee and eligibility policy on Oban Inn’s official site. Confirm directly before treating either as an option. Apply the same check to small inns, B&Bs and rentals.

Fallsview Casino Resort
Check the exact hotel before choosing a Fallsview stay with a pet; a brand name or falls-view room does not establish its pet policy.

Can you leave a pet alone in the room?

There is no reliable “usually yes if crated” rule. The exact hotel’s policy controls your plans. Ask whether you can leave your pet, for how long, whether a crate is required, and how the hotel will contact you. Have the answer attached to your reservation.

If your attraction plans conflict with the hotel’s rules, arrange a sitter or daycare, or have a travelling companion stay with the pet. Check availability, vaccination requirements, drop-off times and pickup times before buying timed attraction tickets. Do not use a parked car as pet care.

Where to walk your dog near Niagara Falls

Canadian side: Niagara Parks, on leash

Niagara Parks permits pets in public outdoor spaces with a leash and owner control. Queen Victoria Park, the Niagara Parkway and Dufferin Islands are options for outdoor walks. Pets cannot enter buildings, attractions or swimming areas. Follow posted restrictions and choose a route suited to your dog and the conditions.

U.S. side: Niagara Falls State Park

Niagara Falls State Park’s pet policy permits household pets on green space and footpaths, including areas with falls views. Pets must be caged or on a leash no longer than six feet; dogs must have current rabies vaccinations. Attractions, buildings, improved walkways and boardwalks are restricted, as are areas closed to pets by signs or staff. Clean up after your pet and supervise it throughout your visit.

Niagara Falls State Park
Niagara Falls State Park allows pets in green spaces and on footpaths, with restrictions at attractions and boardwalks.

Off-leash dog parks in Niagara Falls, Ontario

For designated off-leash space, the City lists Firemen’s Park at 2275 Dorchester Road and the Niagara Falls Humane Society Dog Park at 6025 Chippawa Parkway. Check the City’s dog-park rules, hours and closure notices before travelling. Falls-front walking areas are not substitutes for an off-leash park.

Queen Victoria Park
Queen Victoria Park is an outdoor walking option on the Canadian side. Keep your dog leashed and under control.

Dogs and Niagara Falls attractions

Plan pet care for the boat rides and enclosed attractions. Maid of the Mist and Niagara City Cruises do not admit pets. Journey Behind the Falls falls under Niagara Parks’ no-pets-at-attractions policy, and Cave of the Winds is covered by the U.S. park’s attraction restrictions. Check the operators’ separate service-animal information if that applies to your visit.

For a day with your dog, build your plans around permitted outdoor walks and breaks, with someone available to supervise your pet. If you also want paid attractions, split those visits between adults or arrange care. Our Niagara Falls attractions guide helps you choose activities; confirm pet access with each operator.

Practical tips: a pet-friendly booking checklist

  1. Match the property. Confirm the country, full hotel name and street address. Similar names can refer to hotels with opposite pet policies.
  2. Describe your pet. Give the species, number of animals and each animal’s weight. Ask whether the specific room type and dates accept them.
  3. Get the full charge. Confirm currency, taxes, per-pet versus per-room fees, daily versus per-stay charges, longer-stay cleaning fees and any deposit. Add parking and other mandatory hotel charges to the room price.
  4. Plan time away. Ask about unattended pets, crates, housekeeping access and restricted shared spaces. Request written confirmation with your reservation.
  5. Prepare for walks. Pack a leash, waste bags, a water bowl, familiar food and bedding, and any records requested by the hotel or care provider. Check Niagara Falls conditions and plan breaks around your pet’s needs.
  6. Plan the car journey. Use our Niagara Falls parking guide to compare lots near your walking route, including Canadian and U.S. options.

Crossing the Canada–U.S. border with a pet

Check requirements for both entry and the return journey before booking. Use the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s pet-entry tool for Canada and the CDC’s dog-entry guidance for the United States. Requirements depend on the animal and its circumstances; for U.S. dog entry, recent travel history and vaccination location matter. Do not assume a rabies certificate alone covers every case. Our passport and border-crossing guide covers the human travel planning.

How we checked these pet policies

We reviewed the hotel, brand, park and government pages linked above on October 3, 2026. Published fees are shown with their charging basis; unclear fees and conflicting limits are left for direct confirmation. Ramada’s pet-friendly status is confirmed, but a detailed fee was not established. Red Coach Inn and Oban Inn are not included in the confirmed pet-friendly comparison.

These are published policies, not confirmation of a pet-friendly room for your dates. Recheck the linked policy and obtain the hotel’s acceptance of your particular pet before committing to a reservation.
