Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Candlelight Stroll is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce confirms the date and hours, with further programming still to be announced.

What to expect

The event brings a candlelit procession, a horse-drawn carriage and local musical performers through town. Candle purchases support a community-nominated recipient. The organizer has not yet provided all 2026 purchasing and programme details, so check its announcement before budgeting for candles or planning around a particular performance.

Still to confirm: the final assembly point, route, candle price, road closures and any event-specific accessibility arrangements. The Chamber lists its address at the historic Court House, 26 Queen Street, but that office address alone is not confirmation of the 2026 procession’s starting point.

Getting there and parking

Plan your arrival around the confirmed evening hours and leave time to walk from your parking space. Consult the Town’s parking information and current event notices before setting off. Use posted restrictions on the day; a previous year’s closure map or December parking announcement should not be treated as this year’s arrangement.

If you book dinner or accommodation, ask about guest parking and the walk back after the event. Our Niagara-on-the-Lake guide helps you plan the rest of your visit, while the Old Town Heritage District listing provides local context.

Accessibility and winter preparation

Contact the organizer before travel if you need a step-free route, nearby drop-off, accessible washrooms or somewhere to sit. The final event route has not been verified here, so this page does not label the entire procession wheelchair accessible.

For children or anyone who tires easily, agree on a meeting point and an option to leave early. Bring warm layers and suitable footwear, and check the weather and organizer’s latest updates before leaving. Confirm pet arrangements directly if you plan to bring an animal.

Visitor questions

Are the 2026 date and hours confirmed?

Yes. The Chamber’s current event page announces December 4, 6:30–9:30 p.m. Check it again for any subsequent change.

Where do I buy candles?

Follow the organizer’s 2026 announcement for purchasing arrangements and price. Candle proceeds support the event’s nominated community recipient.

Can I combine this with another winter event?

Compare dates before booking. The Winter Festival of Lights is in Niagara Falls, while the Icewine Festival guide covers January events.
