Set inside a handsome former Carnegie library on King Street, the Welland Museum (officially the Welland Historical Museum) collects and interprets the heritage of Welland and the surrounding area, from early settlement through its industrial heyday along the Welland Canal. Permanent and changing displays cover local trades, wartime stories, and the successive waves of newcomers who shaped the Rose City, alongside a family-oriented gallery with hands-on activities and live animal displays for younger visitors.
Compact and walkable, it makes an easy stop for anyone curious about the human history behind the region's famous waterway. Admission is free, with donations welcomed.
