The most useful way to choose a romantic getaway hotel in Niagara Falls is to decide what will make the stay special for you: a waterfall view, a private jetted tub, a fireplace, dinner in the hotel or a quieter base in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Then book the room category that includes it. A hotel’s name or gallery does not guarantee the same amenities in every room.

Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa
Marriott Fallsview is a useful starting point if your priority is watching the falls from your room and booking a spa visit in the same hotel. Its current room listings include Fallsview, Superior Fallsview and a Riverview King. Choose the named view category rather than treating every room as interchangeable.
The accommodation page describes oversized soaker tubs in redesigned Fallsview King bathrooms. A soaker tub and a jetted whirlpool are different features: have the hotel confirm the actual bathroom attached to the room you are reserving. Burning Springs Spa & Thermal Pools is on site, with thermal access offered as a treatment add-on or day-use pass. Allow for that booking separately unless your selected package includes it.
Sterling Inn & Spa
Sterling suits couples whose ideal evening revolves around the room and dinner. Its room descriptions list fireplaces and a choice of jetted tub or steam shower. The two-room suite adds a separate sitting area; a tub and steam shower should not both be assumed from general hotel photographs.
The hotel’s amenities page includes breakfast delivered to the room for two adults. There is also an on-site spa and AG Inspired Cuisine for dinner. Reserve a restaurant table and any treatment you want before filling the day with attractions. Choose Sterling for these room and dining features; if a panoramic waterfall view is essential, make that a separate requirement in your hotel search.
The Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls
The Oakes has an important room trade-off. Its current accommodation list gives the Courtyard King a two-person whirlpool and separate shower, with a courtyard outlook. The tower King Suite is available in River View, Falls View and Premium Falls View categories, but lists a standard shower and bathtub.
Decide which matters more before comparing rates. A room with a whirlpool is not automatically a Fallsview room. The hotel information page also lists a shared observation deck on the 14th floor, along with an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. Those facilities can complement a stay, but the shared deck is different from a view you can enjoy in your own room. Include the hotel’s mandatory charges in your total.
Sheraton Fallsview Hotel
Sheraton Fallsview offers a base by the Falls Avenue and Clifton Hill area. Its room page says over half of the rooms and suites have falls views, while selected accommodation includes balcony, fireplace or enhanced bath features. Book those features explicitly.
The hotel describes a Juliette balcony as an opening glass door; do not assume it means a terrace with space for chairs. Ask about the balcony type and the outlook of your chosen room. Romantic hotels in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Niagara-on-the-Lake is a different base from the Fallsview district. Choose it for time in Old Town, dining and winery visits, and plan a separate outing if you also want the waterfalls. Check the actual route from your hotel; a single driving estimate will not fit every property or traffic condition.
Prince of Wales
Prince of Wales places you at 6 Picton Street in Old Town, with Secret Garden Spa in the hotel. It is a good shortlist option when period character and time around town matter more than a waterfall panorama.
Read the Premium Guest Room details closely: they specify a fireplace or jetted bath, with rooms spread across the main hotel and adjacent buildings. The Studio and Court buildings require stairs. Confirm the feature, building and access route you want before reserving, particularly if you need elevator access. Book any Secret Garden treatment independently of the room unless the hotel confirms both reservations.
Queen’s Landing
Queen’s Landing offers a setting by the Niagara River in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Its Premium Guest Rooms list a fireplace and jetted tub, which makes that category worth comparing for an evening spent in the room. Confirm bed configuration and outlook rather than assuming that every room faces the water.
The accommodation overview distinguishes the main hotel, suites and rooms in the separate Dockmaster House. The Royal Suite specifically describes Niagara River views. River or harbour scenery here is not a view of Niagara Falls. This is a choice for couples who want a Niagara-on-the-Lake stay with a waterfront setting.
Romantic hotels in Niagara Falls, New York
These two options work for a getaway based entirely in the United States. Build your sightseeing around Niagara Falls State Park, with dinner and room time nearby. Room views in New York need the same careful reading as those in Ontario.
Red Coach Inn
At Red Coach Inn, compare individual named rooms rather than assuming one layout throughout the hotel. The Westminster Room lists a king bed, large jetted tub, separate walk-in shower and first-floor outside entrance. Its description includes made-to-order breakfast for the guests on the reservation.
For a suite with an outlook, the Nottingham Suite lists a bedroom jetted tub, living-room fireplace and views of the Upper Rapids and Goat Island. It is on the third floor and reached by stairs. That is an upper-river view, not a promise of a front-facing waterfall panorama. The room-specific descriptions make it easier to choose between access, space and scenery.
The Giacomo
The Giacomo’s room categories include the Rapid Grand Deluxe with Whirlpool & Fireplace and rooms with a fireplace alone. Select the category that names your priority; the amenities of a larger suite should not be assumed in a standard room.
The 19th-floor Skyview Lounge is a shared hotel space, not a private balcony attached to your room. The hotel also lists a paid breakfast buffet, so check your rate’s inclusions when comparing it with a breakfast-inclusive stay elsewhere. A relaxed two-night romantic getaway
Two nights give you an arrival evening and one full day without needing to check out between activities. One night can still work: pick one main experience and a dinner reservation, rather than trying to fit both countries and wine country into the stay.
- Arrival evening: leave time to settle in and enjoy the room feature you booked. Choose dinner in the hotel or nearby and check the return journey before reserving a late sitting.
- Full day: use the morning for a falls walk or an attraction on your side of the border. If a boat ride is part of the plan, use our boat-tour comparison to choose the departure location and check seasonal operation. Keep the afternoon for a prebooked spa appointment or unstructured time together.
- Departure morning: have breakfast and allow time for checkout. For a Niagara-on-the-Lake stay, put any winery tour into a separate reserved slot and arrange transport, rather than rushing it between hotel commitments.
A city hotel can work well without driving between every activity. Check the actual walking route and hills, especially between the Fallsview district and the waterfront. Booking rooms, romantic packages and the right dates
Book the feature, not a request. If a jetted tub, fireplace, accessible bathroom or particular view is the reason for the trip, have it included in the confirmed category. A note asking for an anniversary upgrade does not guarantee that feature. Ask for room photographs or a layout if the bathroom’s privacy or the location of the tub matters to you.
Read packages as a list of inclusions. Check whether dinner means a meal or a credit, whether a couples massage covers two people, and whether breakfast and parking are included. Match the room category and cancellation terms before comparing a package against separate bookings. Canadian stays are quoted in CAD and New York stays in USD; compare the final totals, including mandatory charges.
Reserve the experiences too. A room package may still require you to book the restaurant and spa directly. For a special occasion, arrange flowers or another extra with the hotel and agree the charge and delivery time. Do not rely on a complimentary surprise.
Choose dates around the trip you want. A winter stay can focus on the room, dining and indoor spa time; a warmer-weather trip can leave more time for outdoor attractions. Check the events calendar and each attraction’s operating dates before you commit. Compare actual midweek and weekend prices for your shortlist instead of assuming that every off-season date is cheaper.
