Niagara City Cruises, also known as Hornblower, departs from Niagara Falls, Canada. Maid of the Mist departs from Niagara Falls, New York. Both offer boat trips with views of the American, Bridal Veil and Horseshoe Falls. Niagara City Cruises (Hornblower): boarding in Canada
Go to the Main Ticket Plaza at 5920 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario, near the foot of Clifton Hill. The operator identifies the entrance by the large white sails beside the Zipline to the Falls tower. A ramp leads to elevators down to the Lower Landing. Niagara City Cruises has no on-site parking lot. Allow time to park and reach the entrance, then pass through the attraction’s entry process. Keep your ticket handy and follow the entry time shown on your booking.
“Hornblower” is the earlier name visitors still use for this Canadian boat tour. Niagara Cruises became part of the City Cruises branding in the 2021 company rebrand. Maid of the Mist: boarding in the United States
Head to Prospect Point in Niagara Falls State Park, Niagara Falls, New York. The operator’s map lists 1 Prospect Street. Use the official U.S. directions to locate the attraction, then follow signs for ticketing and the elevator to the landing. Plan your parking route separately from the boat’s location.

Ticket prices, currencies and booking rules
Niagara City Cruises tickets
The official Voyage to the Falls page advertises fares starting at CAD $47.95; Niagara Parks identifies this as the adult fare for ages 13 and up and says listed prices exclude 13% HST. Check the selected-date price, child fare and final total before paying. Free infant admission still requires a ticket.
According to the operator’s ticketing FAQ, booking involves choosing a date and entry time slot. Buying online can bypass the ticket-purchase line, but it does not remove the line for the landing or boat. Busy periods can push boarding beyond the selected slot. Read the change and cancellation terms attached to your booking.
Maid of the Mist tickets
The published 2026 fares are USD $30.25 for adults and USD $19.75 for ages 6–12. Children five and under ride free with a paid adult. The fare includes the access elevator. Confirm the final amount in the operator’s checkout.
Online tickets are valid on operating days during the season; tickets bought at the ticket office are valid that day. Boarding is first come, first served for everyone. An online purchase does not reserve a particular departure or let you bypass the boarding queue.
Comparing the cost for your group
If both departure points are available to you, compare the checkout totals in one currency. Include each traveller’s age, applicable taxes or fees, your card’s exchange rate, parking and any transport to the departure point. Keep optional packages or evening cruises separate from the standard sightseeing fare so the comparison reflects the same kind of visit.
2026 operating season and daily hours
Niagara City Cruises: use its booking calendar for available dates and times. The operator specifically makes December sailings weather-dependent. Do not treat a general spring-to-fall season description as a confirmed departure on your travel date.
Maid of the Mist: the 2026 schedule lists April 24 through November 8. Published autumn hours are 9 a.m.–5 p.m. from September 28 through October 31, then 9 a.m.–4 p.m. November 1–8. Its ticket office closes 15 minutes before the last scheduled departure. Recheck for operational changes.

Niagara City Cruises onboard details
Niagara City Cruises publishes wheelchair-accessible boarding with ramps and elevators. Its visitor information describes open-air and covered viewing areas. The FAQ lists accessible washrooms aboard and at the Lower Landing. Small and mid-size strollers are permitted, with restrictions on the upper observation deck.
Ask the operator about the route and onboard arrangements for your particular mobility aid or seating needs. The availability of a covered area does not mean you will stay dry throughout a mist tour.
Maid of the Mist onboard details
Maid of the Mist’s official FAQ confirms wheelchair-accessible facilities and boats, plus seating away from the railings on both decks. It has no enclosed indoor passenger area. The operator recommends using its stroller parking before boarding. Contact it about specific access or seating requirements before travelling.
For either boat, consider whether your group needs a seated break before boarding, help reaching the landing, or additional time to move through the entrance. Ask where the nearest suitable washroom is before joining a queue.
Planning your visit from either side of the border
You can build your day around the departure point already available to you. Staying in Canada gives you access to the Canadian boarding area; staying in New York gives you access to the U.S. boarding area. Each tour returns to its own departure side. A boat ticket does not provide transport or permission to enter the other country.
If your itinerary includes a border crossing on land, check entry requirements for every traveller and the return journey before buying tickets. Both standard sightseeing tours visit the falls area, but departure positions, vessel layouts, conditions and sailings affect what you experience. Practical tips for either boat tour

- Leave room in the schedule. The approximately 20-minute ride is only the sailing. Parking, walking, ticketing and queues add time. A ticket does not guarantee a short wait.
- Check bag and stroller rules. Read the requirements for the actual operator on your ticket before arriving. Avoid carrying luggage to the entrance without checking storage arrangements.
