Operating on the Niagara River since the mid-19th century, this boat tour is one of the most recognized ways to experience the falls up close. From the American landing, visitors descend by elevator to a riverside dock, don provided rain ponchos, and ride out past the American and Bridal Veil Falls toward the thundering base of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, where mist and roar surround the vessel.
The voyage runs seasonally, typically from spring once the winter ice clears through late autumn, and departs from within Niagara Falls State Park at Prospect Point. It remains a bucket-list activity for first-time visitors wanting to feel the scale and power of the cataracts from the water.
2026 tickets and season
The published season runs April 24–November 8, 2026, subject to weather and operating conditions. Tickets cost USD $30.25 for adults and $19.75 for children 6–12; ages 5 and under are free with a paying adult. The ticket includes the elevator needed to reach the landing and a poncho.
Boarding, parking and access
Board from Niagara Falls State Park in New York. Online tickets are valid on an operating day in the season, but all passengers board first come, first served; an online purchase is not a reserved departure. Lot 1 is closest to the ticket area. Facilities and boats are ADA accessible. The boat has seating on both decks and no enclosed passenger area, so prepare for spray. A U.S.-side visit does not require crossing into Canada.
