Laura Secord Homestead

This modest frame house in the village of Queenston was the home of Laura Secord, who in 1813 made a long, dangerous trek across the Niagara frontier to alert British troops of an impending American attack. Operated by Niagara Parks, the homestead is furnished to reflect the early 19th century, and guides in period dress share the story of Secord's journey and everyday life during the war years. Open seasonally, it pairs naturally with nearby Queenston Heights and the other lower-river heritage sites for a day of history along the Niagara Parkway.
