Set in a limestone building that was briefly the home of newspaperman and rebel politician William Lyon Mackenzie, this museum traces the evolution of printing across roughly five centuries. Visitors can watch and try working heritage presses and a linotype, guided by knowledgeable interpreters.
Its centrepiece is the Louis Roy Press, believed to be the oldest surviving wooden printing press in Canada. Operated seasonally by the Niagara Parks Commission, the site offers a hands-on look at how news and law once reached early Upper Canada.
