Founded by the Bosc family, French winemakers with generations of experience, Château des Charmes helped establish Niagara as a serious wine region and was among the first here to plant vinifera vines. The imposing château-style winery anchors estate vineyards in the St. Davids Bench sub-appellation, producing a broad range of VQA wines including its signature Chardonnay, Riesling and Cabernet Franc.
Visitors can join tasting flights of estate wines or behind-the-scenes tours that descend into the underground barrel cellars. Reservations are preferred but walk-ins are welcomed, and the grand building and grounds make it a memorable stop just outside the village of St. Davids.
