Queen Victoria Park

Set between the Fallsview escarpment and the edge of the Niagara Gorge, Queen Victoria Park is the green heart of the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Opened to the public in 1888 as Ontario's first provincial park, it was created to reclaim the shoreline from private operators and give visitors open, welcoming access to the waterfalls. Today its roughly 100-plus acres are planted with seasonal carpet-bedding displays, a rock garden, hanging baskets, and celebrated spring shows of daffodils and roses, all threaded by walking paths that trace the river opposite the falls.

Because it faces both the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls head-on, the park doubles as the region's premier viewing ground and gathering place. It anchors major public celebrations including Canada Day, New Year's Eve, and the winter-long Festival of Lights, and connects by the Niagara Parkway and river recreation trail to neighbouring green spaces such as Oakes Garden Theatre and Dufferin Islands. Admission is free, and the grounds are open year-round, making it one of the most accessible and photographed spots in Niagara.
