Reached from the Table Rock Centre beside the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, Journey Behind the Falls sends visitors down by elevator to a network of century-old rock tunnels cut into the gorge wall. Two portals open onto the back of the falling water itself, while a lower observation deck places guests at the base of the cascade where the spray and vibration are impossible to ignore. Operated year-round by the Niagara Parks Commission, the attraction reopened with refreshed exhibits and interpretation in recent years, and it remains one of the most immersive ways to experience the Canadian falls up close.
Tickets and arrival
The published admission is CAD $33 for adults 13+, $21.50 for children 3–12, and free for ages 2 and under. Timed tickets give a window to join the queue; they do not guarantee an immediate start. Niagara Parks recommends arriving at least an hour before closing.
Access and winter visits
The attraction operates year-round, with outdoor access dependent on conditions. Elevator access reaches the tunnels and upper viewing area, while stairs lead to the lower deck. Strollers are not permitted. Paid Falls Parking Lot A is nearby; check the route to Table Rock and allow time to reach the entrance.
