The Niagara Parks Power Station preserves a century-old generating hall that once harnessed the river's power, reopened as an immersive heritage attraction. Inside, the original generators and control equipment stand much as they were left, interpreted through exhibits and an evening projection show that animates the cavernous space.
The signature experience is the Tunnel: a glass elevator carries visitors far below the building to a long tailrace passage ending at an outdoor deck at the river's edge, offering a rare ground-level view of the Horseshoe and American Falls. The generating hall is indoors, but the riverside platform is outdoors and tunnel or platform access can be restricted by weather.
Admission options
Published regular admission is CAD $33 adult/$21.50 child; admission with the 45-minute premium guided tour is $53/$34.50. Check whether you want the daytime, nighttime or guided product before booking. A regular admission is a single entry, not permission to return for the Tunnel another day.
Allow time for the Tunnel
Niagara Parks recommends about two hours for a visit including the Tunnel and lists accessible facilities with benches. The tunnel leads to an outdoor riverside platform, so the full visit is not entirely indoors; weather can restrict tunnel or platform access.
