The Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens spread across a sweeping property that doubles as a living classroom for the adjacent School of Horticulture. Themed areas range from formal rose gardens and perennial borders to a herb garden, arboretum and vegetable plots, all laced together by walking paths that reward an unhurried visit in any season.
Admission to wander the grounds is free, and the site shares its address with the Butterfly Conservatory, so many travellers combine the two into a single leafy detour away from the crowds at the brink of the falls.
